The Domain Ventures is a Ghanaian female-owned business. Aamaa was born a Ghanaian and has remained and worked in Ghana. I took an interest in clothes designing as I was growing up because my mother had not left me out of her ideas to put pieces of fabric together to make beautiful clothes for her children.
It was obvious I was going to take after a multi-talented mother.
As I tried to find solutions to everyday problems for myself, my family, and my friends, the need to bag iced water became necessary. My first insulated water bag was for a friend whose admiration for the product brought other ideas to help people with the convenience of having their food and water flask come together with the insulated bag. It was amazing how easy it was for parents to visit their wards at school with food carried in a bag to fit the bowls. The visit to the hospital and gifts of food to people made AamaA a portable insulated bag to carry everywhere. It was a perfect idea and
that became our differentiator from other lunch bags. Soon we found ourselves being invited to trade fairs, back-to-school programs, offices, and most especially the corporate community.
I then registered with the Ghana Export Promotion Authority, AGI, and a few other business groups after the company was registered.
We followed ideas that came naturally from inspiration, especially in the area of finding solutions to everyday problems. AamaA became a brand name after the late fashion legend Kofi Ansah showed interest in our product. He recommended and preferred AamaA as a brand and a company’s name to The Domain Ventures. Hence, our name is AamaA GH.
